Money Cant Buy Love. Man Proposes With 99 iPhones. Girl Says No

He got 99 iPhones but gettin’ hitched ain’t done.

With “Singles’ Day” looming in China (Nov. 11), one man thought the time was right to try to tie the knot with his girlfriend, preventing them both from having to participate in any future 11/11 festivities. As a keystone of the young programmer’s marriage proposal were 99 iPhones 6’s placed on the ground and arranged in the form of a heart. The setup, as reported by The Nanfang, cost the love-bitten chap two years’ salary (about $82,000). But that evidently wasn’t enough. She said no. Siri, how do you mend a broken heart? Whether our once-hopeful groom likes it or not, pictures of the ultimately sad event (seen above) are up on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo. But of course, with a bushel of iPhones that size, we’re not convinced he has any real reason to feel too bummed. According to a recent survey, one in five men would actually rather have an iPhone 6 than a girlfriend. And that number is even up from last year’s survey about the iPhone 5s, where one in eight said they would forgo the soft touch of a woman for a new Touch ID-equipped Apple phone. So, whether our crestfallen man ends up hawking these phones one by one to make back big bucks, or just decides that 99 Siris are better than one real wife, we get the sense that he’ll be OK in the end. Remember, it’s better to have loved and lost 99 iPhones than never to have loved at all.

One Question I ask, ‘Is This Possible In Ghana’????

DJ TIPS: How To Write A Good DJ Bio And Stand Out.

Your DJ Bio is one of the first things people will notice when researching your Soundcloud or social media pages. As such, it’s important for your bio to draw people in and make them want to listen to your music or mixes. By adding an interesting DJ Bio, you’ll draw in more fans and listeners in no time. This article will outline a few ways to write a good DJ bio and thus exponentially increase your fan base.

1. Focus On Your Strengths

What makes you unique? What’s interesting about the music that you play? Where are you from? What kind of audience do you appeal to? The goal in answering these questions is to find what unique skill set you have.

Another technique to find these answers is to ask your friends, “What do you find interesting about me as a DJ?” This will lead to answers and ideas that you may not have even considered.

Following these steps should teach you how to write a good DJ Bio.

2. Keep It Simple

No one wants to read a DJ Bio that goes on forever. Because of this, length and ease of readability is important to consider when thinking about how to write a good DJ Bio.

Ideally, your Bio should be 5-6 sentences at most, and it should highlight important information such as where you have residencies or play regularly.

If a promoter asks you for a longer version of your Bio, be sure to highlight any accomplishments you may have achieved. These include things like events you’ve thrown, record labels you’ve worked with, or radio shows or podcasts you’ve been involved with.

3. Avoid Clichés

There’s nothing worse than adjectives like “Epic” or “Banging” in a DJ Bio. Things like these will make you seem clichéd and unprofessional. Promoters, bloggers, and all other music industry professionals will immediately ignore profiles that use adjectives like these. Instead, opt for a more minimal bio that doesn’t overzealously sell yourself.

Another thing you should avoid is, “Support from: Hardwell, Tiesto, The Stafford Brothers, Timmy Trumpet etc..”. Unless these artists have actually played your track live or in a mix, do NOT write this. Ever.

These three easy steps should help you learn how to write a good DJ Bio. Once you have a quality DJ Bio, you’ll be one step closer to giving both you and your music a strong online presence.

NEWS: SoulTrain Awards - Chis Brown Wins Big

The Soul Train Awards 2014 rolled through Las Vegas’ Orleans Arena on Friday night. Hosted by Wendy Williams, the show celebrated R&B’s past and present stars with show-stopping medleys, reunions, and some all-star tributes.

Chris Brown, who led with seven nominations, kicked off the show with a dance-heavy medley of his hits including “Yo (Excuse Me Miss),” “New Flame,” and “Loyal.” The R&B superstar also went home with the awards for Best Collaboration and Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year for “Loyal.”

’90s. R&B icons Jodeci reunited for the first time in years to perform a nostalgic medley of fan favorites including “Freek’n You,” “Come & Talk to Me,” “Stay,” and “Forever My Lady.” The North Carolina quartet also debuted its new single “Nobody Wins” with help from B.o.B.

Back in February, producer Timbaland revealed that he's working with the '90s R&B crew on a comeback album. "By the way, people who follow Timbaland from day one, I met with Devante and I'mma help work on the new Jodeci album. Just for y'all to know," he said in a video. "I ain't really supposed to say that but I will be working on the new Jodeci album. And, that will be my career coming full circle, working with Devante again."

The group hasn't released a new album in close to 20 years, with their last being 1995's The Show, the After Party, the Hotel. "No way does the sex on this concept album recall Prince or Marvin Gaye--spiritually, its precursors are Kiss and Judas Priest. Rather than lust between equals, it's powerful men manipulating starstruck girls," Robert Christgau wrote about the album for The Village Voice.

Kool & the Gang was honored with the Legend Award and received a star-studded tribute from Tamar Braxton, Joe, Elle Varner, MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Tank, and Ma$e, who performed his Kool & The Gang-sampled hit “Feels So Good” with Total’s Kima Raynor and Pamela Long.
Lil’ Kim,

Missy Elliott, and Da Brat had the crowd on its feet as they closed out the evening with a performance of their 1996 platinum single “Not Tonight (Remix)” in tribute to Kool & the Gang.

Other performers included Tinashe, who served up her hit “2 On,” and Nico & Vinz, who went home with Best New Artist. Tamar Braxton hosted the red carpet pre-show.
The Soul Train Awards will air on Centric and BET on November 30 at 8 p.m.

NEWS: Itz Tiffany Reacts To The Leaked Sextape

Under fire female Ghanaian musician, Itz Tiffany has blamed the devil for her current troubles sparked by a leaked sex tape. “I leave all to God. What the devil wants to do is to destroy me but this is not going to stop me from walking into the studio to record. Before anything happens to anybody God knows why it happens to you. It happened, I will deal with it, it’s my past it’s caught out with me but life goes on.” A one-minute video which went viral on social media appears to show the female artiste having sex with her ex-husband when they were married. Tiffany has said she will sue her ex husband for releasing the tape to embarrass her. Itz Tiffany took to social media page, Twitter last Friday to respond to her critics saying she’s not new to this. Speaking with an Accra based Joy FM, Itz Tiffany confirmed she was the one in the video but
explained that the video “was shot 6 years ago with my ex-husband. I was engaged with him, I had a child with him, sadly enough he has been able to keep the video for six years and wants to do what he is doing but forgetting that we have a baby together, he’s just not disgracing me, he is disgracing himself and his family.” “I apologize to Ghanaians this is nothing planned. It’s sad. We’ve been battling for custody of my son for a while now. My son is in the UK, he has my son.” Although she said her ex-husband threatened to release such tapes, Itz Tiffany said “I never thought he will do it. When the video was recorded it was funny you can see I was laughing.” She further explained that, her ex-husband abused her during the marriage and did not want her to pursue her music career; “I want to do music, he doesn’t want me to do music, he wants me to have babies and stay at home.”

Nsem Pii: Akoo Nana Causes Stir ---- Brings Topless Girls On Stage: Says Its For Breast Cancer Campaign

Young Ghanaian artistes are becoming more daring and creative with their acts, but last Friday, it seemed hiplife artiste, Akoo Nana, took his too far by parading  naked female dancers at the Tigo Unplugged concert  at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Wash and Wear singer presented the three naked  dancers to back him but  the show organisers  dragged them  off stage to save the programme from any  embarrassment.
The dancers, whose faces were covered with paper masks, were virtually naked except for pieces of scanty loin cloths covering their underparts.
For close to five minutes, the topless dancers vigorously shook their ample bosoms in the full glare of the thousands of patrons, including children, who had come to watch the concert,  until event organisers decided to escort them off the stage midway through their performance.
The energy with which the half-naked dancers shook their bodies to Azonto and Alkayida rhythms meant that at certain times, the pieces of cloth covering their nether regions slipped out of place exposing their bare bottoms to all.
But for Akoo Nana’s ‘nudity’ act, the concert, organised by Telecommunication Company, Tigo, to launch their new music application, Dezeer, saw exciting performances from some of Ghana’s and Nigeria's biggest music stars like MzVee, Davido, Guru, Sarkodie, Joey B, Pappy Kojo and Shatta Wale

The concert, was used to launch telecommunication company Tigo’s Dezeer music application and this is how Akoo Nana decided to use this huge platform for. Later he explained the notion behind this act.  He made the revelations in an interview with online portal citifmonline.com.
“I’m embarking on my breast cancer campaign and I’m dropping a video, which features various health professionals, to sensitise people on breast cancer”
“I wanted to break the performance at a point and educate people on breast cancer. But the crowd was hyper and I wanted to get to the end of my performance to do that but I couldn’t finish the act”

Ghanaian dancehall artist Episode lived the “dirty side” of the genre over the weekend in Kumasi when he performed at the Nominees Jam for the 2014 Edition of the 4Syte TV Music Video Awards.
Noted for his energetic performance, the artist did not fall short of that and but switched things up when he invited three ladies to join him on stage. The rest, I leave to your watching pleasure.
Take note that he had already informed the crowd of the possible outcome of his next performance though.

Meet Clare Jabesh - Naija's Dancehall Sensation

Clare Jabesh, who real name is Clara Riches Gimba, is one of the few female musicians who is making a name for her self with an unfamiliar genre in Nigeria. She hails from Kaduna, Nigeria. Unlike here in Ghana, where dancehall is a 'big thing' in the music industry, the same cannot be said for our neighboring Nigeria, where Rap and Afrobeatz seem to be the dominant force. However, the country has seen the birth of a new star into a genre which hold a few household names such as Patoranking and one of my favourite artistes Cynthia Morgan.

Judging from her first single, she has a lot of promise and its in the position to give big names in the industry a run for their money. Signed to Raynation Music Group, she has recently released a single and featured the Award-winning act 'Reborn'. Though she's a dancehall artiste, she enjoys listening to Nicki Minaj. She hopes to feature Ghanaian Dancehall act Stonebwoy in the near future. Her next single, Show Off is set to be released soon. She currently a student of Panam College of Music, Jos.

NEWS: Shatta Wale In Trouble For Attacking Boutique Owner

Controversial Ghanaian musician, Shatta Wale, on Sunday allegedly brutally assaulted a man at his East Legon residence after virtually kidnapping him. The man, who gave his name as Rashid Abu, told Daily Guide that Shatta Wale beat him up in the presence of his (Shatta’s) manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, aka Bull Dog, and some macho men, over an amount of GH150 the musician owed him. Attempts to speak to Bull Dog or the controversial musician were unsuccessful as their lines were not active. Text messages sent to Bull Dogs phones also did not elicit response before press time. Shatta Wale , known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. , and his purported hoodlums allegedly picked Rashid from his shop at Adabraka Sunday afternoon under the pretext that he was going to pay the GH150 he owed the young man at his East Legon residence. “He came to pick up some outfits worth GH150 from my shop five months ago but refused to pay. After some time, when I called he refused to answer. I called him on Sunday; he picked it and started insulting me. He even told me that he was not going to pay me my money. Later he came to my ‘Blow Money Fast’ boutique at Adabraka in the company of some ‘macho men’ and Bull Dog. He asked that I join him in his car so that he pays me my money,” Rashid Abu stated. He asserted that he was reluctant to go but after pleadings by Bull Dog, he entered the car, adding that Shatta Wale drove him all the way from Adabraka to his house and later forced him to kneel down and apologise for calling to demand for his money. GH50 Notes According to the young businessman who is believed to be in his 30s, Shatta Wale gave him several slaps with a bundle of GH50 notes while Bull Dog looked on. Rashid, who naturally tried to defend himself, was cautioned by the ‘macho men’ not to venture, else they would kill him. “When we got to his house, the ‘macho men’ opened the gates and once we got in,
Shatta Wale asked me to kneel down and he begun slapping me with a bundle of GH50. I tried to defend myself but his thugs warned me to stop, else they would kill me right there. Bull Dog even told me to do what Shatta Wale would tell me else I would be severely beaten up,” he narrated. Rashid told this paper that Shatta gave him the bundle of the GH50 notes he used in slapping him and instructed him to pull his money out of it. “I refused but after the ‘macho men’ had threatened to give me more slaps, I took the money, counted GH150 for myself and gave him the rest,” he added. The victim has since reported the incident at the Central Police Station in Accra. He was prepared to purse the assault case in court, he told Daily Guide. Shatta Wale, as an artiste, has gained notoriety for insulting persons and institutions whose opinions about him he does not agree with. He was recently in the news for publishing on his social media page, some four videos of himself making derogatory and insulting statements against Charter House. The musician also hurled insults at his colleague musicians, workers of Charter House and owners of the company. A portion of the video has even been said to border on threats. Charter House, a private company with expertise in events management and production, later sued him for defamation. They are demanding GH10million as damages for the defamatory comments made in the four videos that the artiste had uploaded on the social media. At the first hearing, the court granted an order restraining Shatta Wale from making further defamatory remarks about Charter house. Shatta Wale is now begging for an out-of-court settlement of the case and has formally written to lawyers of Charter House to that effect. The case has been adjourned to November 2, 2014. [NEWS] Julliet Ibrahim Finds Love In Bobby V

After multiple failed romances r'n'b star Bobby V appears to have finally found his match.
The 34-year-old US singer is said to be dating Ghanaian actress and movie producer Juliet Ibrahim.
Juliet Ibrahim is said to have admitted to dating US singer Bobby Valentino.
Newly single Ibrahim first ignited speculation they were an item after posting photos of herself cozying up with Slow Down hit maker on her Instagram page.
One image included the caption "always" followed by the in love emoji. "He calls me his African Princess," she tweeted days later.
When she was contacted by Linda Ikeji, she said they’ve known each other for months and are seeing each other.
“We are still getting to know each other, so I can’t say much for now. Let’s just see how it goes. We are taking it one step at a time”.
Juliet disclosed in July in an interview with Myjoyonline.com that her marriage of four years to Kwadwo Safo had ended.
The actress said even though they had been divorced for a year, they thought it prudent to keep the issue out of the public in order to protect their son..
"We are still getting to know each other, so I can't say much for now. Let's just see how it goes. We are taking it one step at a time," she is quoted as saying.
It looks as if Ibrahim has found love again in the wake of her split from ex-husband Kwadwo Safo Jnr. The couple divorced earlier this year after four years of marriage.
In an interesting twist, the former lovers were recently spotted cuddling at the Hennessy Artistry Concert held at the Accra International Conference Centre on 18 October.

[NEWS]: Austin University to Offer Course on Rihanna and Beyonce

Rihanna and Beyonce

I was so astonished to hear this news myself, but I would be elated if I was studied as a course in a mere college, not to mention an entire university. But Rihanna and Beyonce, two of the world leading female vocal stars are going to be studied as courses in the University Of Austin, Texas in the United States. According to reports, Professors at the University of Texas at Austin are offering a gender studies course that provides students with an in-depth analysis of the careers of two of today’s biggest female musicians.
With controversial projects that have put both artists in hot water with pop culture critics, the careers of Beyoncé and Rihanna are constantly under scrutiny. With songs like “Run the World (Girls)” and “Flawless,” which features words from Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Mrs. Carter has been criticized countless times for her stance on feminism and whether or not her image and the message of her music correctly aligns with the feminist perspective. On the other hand, self-proclaimed “bad gal” Rihanna has been the subject of many headlines for her no apologies given attitude, with many of her personal and professional actions leading to numerous online debates and opinion pieces.
Taking a look beyond just the music and lyrics of these two artists, the University of Texas course titled “Beyoncé Feminism, Rihanna Womanism” will cause students to examine the message and image of these female pop stars as it relates to black feminism.
According to the course’s description, “Students in this class will learn that there is far more than catchy melodies to Beyoncé’s and Rihanna’s music. They will not be simply listening to Beyoncé and Rihanna for fun or even comparing the roles of Beyoncé and Rihanna in popular culture, rather, students will be studying how the lyrics, music videos, and actions of these women express various aspects of black feminism such as violence, economic opportunity, sexuality, standards of beauty, and creative self-expression.”
The course will focus on “how the lyrics, music videos, and actions of these women express various aspects of black feminism such as violence, economic opportunity, sexuality, standards of beauty, and creative self-expression.”
