Henessey Artistry Ghana Concert With 2face Idibia, Wizkid, Edem, 4X4, MzVee & Mafikizolo

The 2014 edition of Hennessy Artistry concert was launched on Friday, September 19 on Starr FM’s Starr Drive with Bola Ray.

This year’s campaign for the Hennessy Artistry, the music platform known for its art of blending, will see 2Face Idibia and Wizkid, as the 2014 edition’s headliners. They will be joined by multi-talented artistes from Ghana such as 4×4, Edem, MzVee, and Mafikizolo from South Africa to rock the stage.

The concert comes off on Saturday, October 18 at the Accra International Conference Center.

Speaking to the media, organizers said that, “the people of Ghana deserve to be thrilled by the best; they need collaborations between multi-talented artistes, so the choice of bringing all these super-duper artistes from Africa and three top-notch DJs on one night is to keep their promise of presenting the best. Like the Master Blender who combines eaux-de-vie to produce an excellent blend of Hennessy, the Hennessy Artistry movement blends passion, music, and cognac to bring together a fusion of dramatically different artists from complementary musical genres.”

Tickets for are going out for a COOL Ghs 200 (VVIP), Ghs 120 (VIP), Ghs 60 (Regular), but the brand will be bringing musical adventures to selected clubs in Accra for customers to win tickets to the event slated for October 18 at the Accra International Conference Center. Those parties come off on September 26 at the One2One Lounge in the Movenpick Ambassadors Hotel, October 3 at the Hollywood Boulevard and October 10 at Shisha Lounge.

The launch had some of Ghana’s celebrities in persons of 4×4, MzVee, Bola Ray, Nii Ayi Tagoe, DJ Perfekt, representatives from Hennessy and the media as well.

This year’s Artistry represents a blend of the matured, premium lifestyle, the young and vibrant lifestyle. It is proudly put together by Hennessy, Empire Entertainment and Starr FM.

Undoubtedly the bst performance of the night, Sarkodie, once again proved why he is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Performing close to an hour after an ecstatic introduction by his dancers, Sarkodie peformed a list of songs, including a few from his latest album "Sarkology", whiles he also performed some of his old songs which saw almost everyone, including the malaika girls sitting behind me, rapping all the lyrics to his songs. It was a sight to see as fans swayed and waved as he continued to performed. He later gave shout to Shatta Wale, who was in USA at the time, and performed the remix of the hit song 'Dancehall Commando' on which he was  featured. He also gave glowing tribute to Castro, who is still missing after the Jet-Ski accident in Ada about a month ago.

Castro - Dead Or Alive????

I am deeply saddened as I publish this post, but what can a mere human like me do in this heart-breaking situation. Confirmed reports have it that popular musician and recently nominated Artiste Of the year, Theophilus Tagoe popularly known as Castro Da Destroyer has been reported dead. The male vocalist, and ‘Seihor’ hit-maker who was in the company of Asamoah Gyan and a few friends at Ada was riding the Jet Ski which was later found without the rider himself. Later, ace musician Abrewa Nana, confirmed the news on Pluzz FM, saying the lady with whom Castro was riding the Jet Ski fell off as the boat sped off,  and in an attempt to save her, they both drowned. She went on to say that the body of the singer has been retrieved, but that of the lady has not. Other reports also have it that death cannot be confirmed simply because his body has not been found, as searches are still ongoing. Our prayers are still with him and his family. Seriously I don’t have enough prove for now, but we still praying that our fears turn out false, because it would be a huge lost to the industry. There are so many sides to the story, but we would keep you posted as events turn out.

The BET Experience For An African Artiste

Previously, people in the Entertainment circles wondered why African artistes who were nominated for the BET Awards, had to recieve their awards backstage. Well for once, i thought things were improving when I heard that our African Artistes would be performing on one of the world's biggest stages.

Few days after the above event and the main BET Awards, it is being alleged that, the crowd our top African artistes performed to at the ‘BET Experience At LA Live’ was FAKE; they were Decorators, Cleaners and Technicians who were working for BET.

Nigerian Afro Pop Artiste-Imelda J has taken to twitter to blast organizers of the BET Awards to stop humiliating & treating top African Super Stars like “crap”.

According to Imelda, her cousin was among the BET stage technicians that worked on the 2014 BET Awards and the cousin has confirmed that, the African artistes performed and jumped around on stage to a fake crowd—not real fans as it would be expected.
